This month - as the pollen seeks the skies and the days become longer - I have had a whirlwind of ups and downs. The following tracks are the ones that have helped me remain upbeat and kept my mind in the game.

First up is the Mount Liberation Unlimited Ethereal Teen Dream Version of Art Alfie’s track, Downstreamed. Art Alfie is a Stockholm based DJ/Producer. As for the Mount Liberation Unlimited Ethereal Teen Dream bit, your guess is as good as mine when it comes to what that even is. This track starts as a sleepy warm sunrise and drifts in and out of two worlds - whimsical dreaming and dance floor contender. I’ve always been drawn into songs that have the ability to have slow, mellow overtones while having an energetic tmepo behind them to lift the track, and Downstreamed is one of them.

Next up is Glenn Astro, a German DJ/Producer, with Coloured Sands Part 2. The progressive nature and the movement of sounds in this track are what initially drew me in. You get a real sense of journey through the track as the intricate layers begin to subtly build into this delicious and soothing bass line. There are some really satisfying details within this tune that always get me moving. Perfect track for a mid afternoon backyard garden gathering.

Get on your feet for the next one because Laurence guy has brought the goods yet again with his track Ubik. There is so much to love about this track. From the detailed percussion sounds (cow bells, bongos, tambourine) to the Las Vegas arcade style revolving synth sounds that are prominent throughout the track. And not mention the breakdown - a true gritty bass line attack that your body will involuntarily be consumed by. Laurence Guy is really producing the goods with so much variety in his approach to house music.

Next, I’ve Inserted some real groove with the fourth track Cannot Let You Go by Italian DJ/Producer, Weast. This hot tune has such a tasty bass line booster, it’ll leave you on the dance floor pulling weird facial expressions of satisfaction. With its soul-like samples running throughout and subtle guitar riffs, Cannot Let You Go is a smooth arrangement of sounds that will accompany you with open arms while whipping up a quick meal for your grandmother.

Continuing on with the groove vibes, last but definitely not least, is a serious foot tapper by Marlborough (UK) based DJ/Producer Tom Jarmey, with Beach Jazz. The name of this track couldn’t describe the arrangement any better. There is this deeply groovy bass line, crisp bongos, jazz soaked keys and soothing samples about a son and father going to Federal Prison together and developing a love for jazz music. This track gets straight to the point with minimal amounts of progression. Beach Jazz is a real mood lifter that keeps on giving.

Until next month, stay sharp.
